S-Video

Used for Video picture applications. The S-Video format is an improvement on single RCA Composite Video transmission. It separates the chrominance (colour) and the luminance (brightness) ensuring there is lesschance of interference between the two signals. It thereby ensures better picture quality with little chance of colour ‘bleeding’.

Scart

The Scart connection is found on most TV’s and Home Theatre components and is the most popular anduniversal of all connection types. The 21 pin Scart is a flexible solution which can carry Audio, Composite Video, S-Video and even RGB. It also allows the use of control commands for user menus within TV’s.

BNC

A studio grade connector for ultra-high performance Video and Digital connections. It is a mechanicallysuperior connector primarily being used in professional equipment including Projectors and DVD players as well as installations.

Toslink™ (Optical)

Used for Digital Audio transmissions. It utilises a light signal for audio transmission and it is therefore virtually impervious to noise. It is found on CD Players and DAC’s as well as many DVD players and Processors.

Mini Toslink™ (Optical)

An alternative form of optical connection. Typically found in portable devices such as Mini Disc players and some CD-R Digital Recorders.
